What is Beauty? Will Beauty Change Your Life?
What is Beauty?
Nature of beauty is common and enduring in west. With the nature of art it is a fundamental issue. Beauty is counted traditionally among the ultimate values. Beauty is considered as the goodness of a human or an object.
In the beginning of twentieth-century beauty was declined as a subject of philosophy. It was also a primary goal of the arts.
The most familiar issue in the theory of beauty is that either beauty is subjectively located in the eye of the beholder or an objective of beautiful things.
Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists in the mind and each mind thinks a different beauty. One person perceives deformity and the other is sensible of beauty so every individual has his own sentiment.
Beauty is entirely subjective that if anything that anyone holds to be or experiences as beautiful is beautiful so it seems that word has no meaning.
We are not calling anything when we call something beautiful except perhaps an approving personal attitude. It is possible to disagree and agree about that whether a thing is beautiful or not. You can also raise the question that why a thing is beautiful and how is it beautiful.
It seems senseless to say that beauty has no connection to subjective response or that it is completely objective. A world with no perceivers could be beautiful or ugly, maybe that beauty could be found by using instruments
.
Every judgment of beauty is based on a personal experience and such judgments vary from person to person. Beauty is also described as a feature of objects that makes these objects pleasurable to perceive. That objects include sunsets,
humans and works of art. Beauty with art and taste is the main subject and major branch of philosophy. One difficulty in understanding beauty is due to the fact that it has both subjective and objective aspects.
It is seen as a property of things. But also as depending on the emotional response of observers. Because of its subjective side, beauty is said to be in the eye of the beholder.
The ability on the side of the subject needed to perceive and judge beauty. Sometimes referred to as the sense of taste can be trained and the verdicts of experts coincide in the long run.
This would suggest that the standards of acidity of judgments of beauty are intersubjective for example dependent on a group of judges, rather than fully subjective or fully objective.
Concept of Beauty
The concept of beauty aims to capture what is essential to all beautiful things. A most common element in the concept of beauty is its relation to pleasure. Beauty is not just a visual experience.
It is a characteristic that provides a perceptual experience to an eye, ear, intellect, aesthetic faculty or moral sense. It is a quality that gives pleasure,
meaning, and satisfaction to the senses. But the main point of concentration is eye, the intellect and the moral sense.
A human’s beauty is defined by the symmetry of the face, age, color, race, bone structure, gender, body shape, weight or how flat a human’s stomach is?
Its also defined by what you see in the media or by popular culture and trends, for example, big bums and big lips are in, simply because of certain tending celebrities. Various cultures have different definitions and perceptions of beauty.
The Kayan tribes believe that long neck giraffe-type necks are a sign of beauty and from age five start priming their necks with heavy brass rings. In several parts of Asia where pale or white skin is often seen as a sign of beauty and affluence.
Now a days beauty is down to the aesthetic artists, facialists and makeup artists who can transform faces or bring about bloom of youth.
Watching a very beautiful girl on TV sadly describe herself as not being very pretty and not even attractive” got me thinking about my definition of beauty and wanting to ask you what your definition of beauty is?
I believe that real beauty is acceptance of yourself, perceived flaws and all, and realizing that they are a part of what makes you, you. It’s a radiance of spirit,
having character, kindness to ourselves and to others, its strength and self-confidence to know that with or without makeup the real beauty is you.
Part of beauty also has to be about the things that make you feel beautiful. For a woman that’s anything from lounging at home with her hair up in a bun minus the makeup,
to a compliment from a stranger when she is not even trying, to wearing an amazing new outfit combined with a bright red lipstick.
